Peter Dowhal is running for an at-large position on the board.
Mr. Petro (Peter) DOWHAL has been member of the Ukrainian Credit Union (UCU) for almost forty years (since 1974). His parents were long time members of UCU and now his young children, aged 9 and 11, are proud third generation members.
Petro brings 25 years of experience in the Security Industry (Armoured Car, Money Room Processing, Automated Teller Machine (ATM) service, Vaulting and Storage, Static Guard, Physical and Electronic Surveillance as well as Retail experience). During his tenure with two worldwide Security firms Petro was Project Manager for the US Department of State where he was responsible for providing contract security to the US Embassy and three Consulates in Canada. Currently Mr. Dowhal holds a contract position with Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Government of Canada within their passport division.
Mr. Dowhal graduated from Sheridan College with a Law and Security Diploma specializing in Loss Prevention. He has a Certified Protection Officer Instructor (CPOI) designation from the International Foundation of Protection Officers (IFPO). He is a long time member of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and a licensed Private Investigator and Security Officer with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services Ontario.
Since his childhood, Petro has been a very active member in various community organizations, a value he instills in his children. He currently holds the position of Manager of the Ukrainian Soccer Club (USC) Karpaty boys under-twelve team as well as a position on the USC Karpaty Board of Directors. Since 2009 Petro has been an active member of the Parent Council at Saint Sofia Eastern Byzantine Rite School. He has been assisting PLAST Ukrainian Youth Association as a counselor for the past three years and has coordinated, and volunteered at their summer camps.
Mr. Dowhal and his family are parishioners of both St. Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox & Byzantine Catholic Churches.
