First prize for UCU float!

Ukrainian Credit Union, with the creative help of local artists' group Kosa Kolektiv, won first place in the parade for having the best float! Below is the front page of New Pathway with the announcement.
We're famous! We made the front page of New Pathway newspaper.

The float symbolized the growth of the Ukrainian community in Canada. The float took on a folksy look which both symbolizes the optimism of Ukrainian-Canadians who have lived in this great country for the past 120 years, as well as provides a link to the old country.V.V., the headline act at this year's festival, provided a physical link to Ukraine through their own persons, but also in a more artistic sense as well since V.V.'s leader Oleh Skrypka himself is very much interested in exploring folk music and folk traditions.

We were very happy to be able to provide a unique experience to the band that let them take part in the premier event of the Ukrainian community here in Toronto. V.V. even after 25 years of being the most super of Ukraine's super stars nonetheless remain down-to-earth guys that enjoy a good parade as much as the next person does.
Here's a closeup of the photo in New Pathway.
You can see more festival pictures on our FB page in the album titled Toronto Ukrainian Festival Parade.

V.V. Meet their fans

V.V. gets ready to meet their fans
Oleh Skrypka and the rest of the guys from V.V. dropped by the UCU Wealth Strategies Group Office to meet their fans, sign autographs, give interviews and take some pictures. Hundreds of fans lined up at 3pm to meet their idols and came away with a nice little souvenir!
Hundred of people lined up outside for a chance to see V.V.
up close and personal
The members of V.V. were very accommodating. Despite being jet lagged and coming off of a late night concert they smiled, took many pictures and didn't leave till the last person came through the door some 2 hours later. You have to love a band that has been famous for 25 years but is as gracious and friendly as V.V.!

The first of many fans stream in through the door.
Ron Cahute of Kontakt TV interviews Oleh Skrypka
The media circus was crazy! Journalists from as far away as Argentina came to interview Oleh Skrypka and V.V.!

You can see more photos of the autograph signing session go to the V.V. autograph signing album on our FB page.

for photos of the parade go the Toronto Ukrainian Festival Parade album and for photos of the festival in general go to the album titled Toronto Ukrainian Festival 2012.
