    1. Putin made an interesting comment the other day....which showed that he is not behind this master plan but merely another puppet of the Comminist family...he said that Crimea will never be a land of [Stepan] Bandera. I'm not anonymous or misinformed, or a communist revisionist.

  5. Crimean People want to be with Russia. Why force them to stay in Ukraine? Ukraine is for Ukranians! Crimeans are not Ukrainians, they are Russians. Let them and Ukraine live in peace.

    1. Anonymous (if that really is your name) Crimeans are not "Russians". 50% of Crimeans are ethnically Russian, the rest are ethnic Ukrainians, Tatars and other ethnic groups. Secondly all Crimeans are citizens of Ukraine, which makes them Ukrainian in the modern sense. Maybe all these people do want to be with the Russian Federation, unfortunately we will never know. The Russian Federation invaded in force and held a referendum under the guns of its military. Whatever result has come of this can hardly be interpreted by anyone as "the will of the Crimean people" it is simply the will of Putin. Crimeans lived in Ukraine for 22 years and had plenty of opportunities to organize a referendum to separate from Ukraine freely. They did not make that choice. Only when the referendum was forcibly organized by Putin did they choose to leave.

I agree that Ukraine and the Russian Federation should live in peace. Invading Crimea is not the way to live in peace.

    2. Ooops typo, I meant to type 59% of Crimeans are ethnically Russian, not 50%.

  6. We'd like to point out to all our readers on both sides of the fence that our fight is with Putin and the government of the Russian Federation. We are not against the Russian people. We want them to be able to live in a free country too. We wish them luck in getting rid of Putin and his cronies.

We also understand that many Russian seem to like Putin and want to live in a country that behaves like a bully. To those Russians we say: Do as you please in your country, it is not our business to tell you how to live. However, please do stay out of Ukraine. Ukraine is a pluralistic and democratic country and does not need your brand of fascist cult of personality.

    1. Honestly after reading all sorts of comments about how bad are Russians, this excuse doesn't work. You guys "let the word fly out" good luck catching it back. Really thinking about clothing relationships with your Spilka.

    2. Mr. Belousov Ukrainian Credit Union Limited holds no ill towards you or any other Russian. We look forward to the pleasant day, hopefully soon, when both Ukrainians and Russians can live in peace in democratic European countries without dictators like Putin or thieves like Yanukovych running the show.

We also encourage our members to be tolerant to one another despite the war that Mr. Putin has started.

We are not planning to change our position on the illegal invasion of Ukraine by the army of the Russian Federation on the orders of Mr. Putin and we will continue to publicly call on the our members and the world to force Mr. Putin to back down.

      Best regards,

      Ukrainian Credit Union Limited

  7. This is a good way to start Steve. If you don't mind I would like to suggest some more direct actions that Canadians and the diaspora may want to consider. There are numerous Canadian companies that have business interests in Russia that could be switched to Ukraine. We should get the Canadian gov't to encourage them to make the move. This would send a powerful message to Putin, business is pulling out and going over to Ukraine.
Here are two: Bombardier Aircraft and Kinross Gold Mining. Contact your Member of Parliament and Minister John Baird's office about them.

  8. Who can local Ukraineans call if they are against people in Kiev who illegally came into power, by throwing an armed coup?

  9. Also, question to previous Anonymous poster.... how would Kinross Gold or Bombardier Aircraft switch their interests to Ukraine?
Business deals are not made or broken overnight, especially when there are billions of dollars at stake and these companies only answer to their shareholders (who care about profit, not a piece of land on the other side of the ocean).

But now reading all those nasty messages, I really thinking to close account and move all my money to another canadian bank. Nobody win, but bank will lose clients. Please stop this antirussian propaganda on the website.

    1. Dear Anonymous, our position is not anti-Russian and please don't imply that it is. Our position is anti-Putin, against the illegal invasion of Ukraine by the army of the Russian Federation, and pro-sanctions against the Russian Federation until the illegal invasion is ended and the troops of the Russian Federation are withdrawn from ALL territories of Ukraine.

We definitely are not against the Russian people. However, if you personally support the illegal invasion of Ukraine by the army of the Russian Federation, then we agree you personally probably will not be very comfortable being a member of Ukrainian Credit Union Limited.
