Windsors’ St. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church held their very first Building Fund Golf Tournament at Fox Glen Golf course this past weekend July 16, 2011.
Golfers Greg Frederick, Michael Pyzniak, Michael Kryworuchko and Mark Nazarewich |
The Golf committee of Bob Petruk, Mike Kryworuchko, Walter Bocian, Glen Kehoe and Alan Wachna were successful with the support of the church Womens’ League in hosting a very fruitful fund raiser. The dinner took place at the new church hall with the ladies preparing an outstanding meal with Ukrainian favorites of cabbage rolls and varenyky along with beef, chicken and kapusta.
The UCU Team of Mike Kryworuchko, Mark Nazarewich, Michael Pyszniak, and Greg Frederick took second place behind the tournament winning Family Slipchuk team. The winners of the “Longest Drive” were UCU’s Fred Petruk and Zenon Chwaluk who came to Windsor to play in the tournament all the way from Toronto. Zenon Chwaluk also turned out to be the luckiest guy at the event winning two prizes as well as the 50-50 which he proceeeded to very generously donate to the building fund. Good on you Zenon!
