Since the
beginning of 2015, staff and members of Ukrainian Credit Union Limited have
been raising money for the "UCU Helps Ukraine" fund in order to
assist those injured in the fighting in eastern Ukraine.
As the fighting continues many
individuals will be in dire need of help. Many will sustain injuries, rendering
them incapable of returning to their previous jobs, or lose their lives,
leaving their families with one less provider. In a country such as Ukraine,
which is in the midst of economic reform and struggling financially, those
directly affected by the conflict may find themselves with little to no help
from the authorities in terms of social assistance. With the generous support
of people like you, we will be able to help those individuals and their
families not only meet essential daily needs, but work toward a brighter
future.
On behalf of staff and members of Ukrainian Credit Union Limited, we
would like to thank you for your support of our organization’s initiative “UCU
Helps Ukraine.” Your donation will go a long way in helping assist the men and
women who have made enormous sacrifices in Ukraine’s struggle against Russian
aggression.
The UCU Helps Ukraine fund has
collected approximately $76,000 CDN. So far we have distributed a total of
$71,055 CDN to 44 soldiers who have each received $1,200 USD.
We will continue making distributions of $1,200 USD per
soldier while funds last. Your generosity has made this possible, but sadly
there are still so many injured soldiers that require help. Thank you once
again for your donation and support. Together, we will make a positive
difference for those committed to Ukraine’s democratic and European
future!
There are still many young
soldiers who have lost arms, legs or suffered even worse injuries. If you have
the ability and desire to help the wounded Ukrainian soldiers, you can make a
donation to the account #721225 at any branch of Ukrainian Credit Union Limited
or through our Call–Center at (416)–922–4407 or (800)–461–0777.
We transfer the collected
funds directly to the soldiers. If you follow our Facebook page you will see
that we regularly publish photos of the young men we have helped along with the
thank you letters they have sent us.
Sincerely yours,
The UCU Helps Ukraine Committee
