Olana Lovell - UCU Community Leadership Award winner

Our fifth winner of the UCU Community Leadership Award is Olana Lovell. This award is in the amount of $1,000 and is given to qualifying candidates of Ukrainian heritage who are enrolled in a field of study such as political science, business, communication, theology, or international studies and who show above average academic skills. The winners must also demonstrate leadership and community involvement.

Olana Lovell is a 2nd year student at McMasters Bachelor of Nursing Studies Program. She spends some of her free time volunteering as a Big Sister for the “In-school Mentoring Program” at St. Patrick’s Catholic Elementary school in Hamilton. She is also a member of the McMaster Ukrainian Students’ Club, the Barvinok Dance School, and the Ukrainian Youth Association – Mississauga branch where she helps out as a counsellor at the Veselka Summer Camp.
