Natalie Witiuk - Candidate for the UCU Board of Directors

Natalie Witiuk is the fourth (in alphabetical order) of four people running for election to the UCU Board of Directors whose bio we are featuring on the blog.

Ms. Natalie Witiuk has been a UCU member almost since birth, and is passionate about strengthening the relationships and community ties that support the Ukrainian Canadian Community.


Ms. Witiuk’s extensive recent academic background provides her with a youthful, fresh perspective on the role of the credit union in our community.

Ms. Witiuk obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo (St. Jerome’s College) in Legal Studies and Speech Communication, and also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Marketing Management from Humber College. She will be completing her Master’s of Business Administration in April 2011 at Queen’s University, specializing in Global Strategy and Consulting.

Ms. Witiuk is also working towards a certificate in Socially Responsible Leadership from the Centre for Responsible Leadership at Queen’s University.

Before returning to school to pursue her MBA, Ms. Witiuk worked in Marketing and Business Development at Fasken Martineau, Canada’s third largest law firm. She was actively involved in the strategic planning and execution of new business pitches and proposals, client relationship management initiatives, contributing to website and social media campaigns, and the distribution and publication of extensive client resources.

Ms. Witiuk has also held a number of leadership positions in the communities where she has lived and studied. At the University of Waterloo, Ms. Witiuk was Councillor for St. Jerome’s College on the Federation of Students (FEDS), the official representative body of approximately 25,000 students. More recently at Queen’s, Ms. Witiuk has represented her cohort of 119 classmates as the Director of Communications on the Class of 2011 Student Council Executive. Ms. Witiuk is a parishioner at St. Demetrius Church, and attended St. Demetrius Catholic School. She was also an active member of the Yavir School of Ukrainian Dance for 14 years. Ms. Witiuk continues her involvement with the community as a leader and councillor for St. Demetrius’ annual Youth Retreat.
