The 7th Annual St.Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church Golf Tournament was a great success. This year, for the first time, the tournament held its dinner and award ceremony at the church's new banquet hall at the corner of Trafalgar and River Oaks Blvd.

Ukrainian Credit Union Limited was proud to be the main sponsor of this event that not only helps the church fund its ambitious plans for a new Ukrainian cultural hub in Oakville, but also provides funding for a family quiet room at the new Oakville hospital currently under construction.

Ukrainian Credit Union Limited is Sponsoring Kozak System Featuring Taras Chubay to headline the Toronto Ukrainian Festival. We'll have a few contests coming up for tickets to the before and after parties and other goodies such as CDs. So keep your eye on our Facebook page and our blog Building Community.

Those of you who have been going to the festival since its early days will remember Taras Chubay performing on the stage in the No Frills Parking about a dozen or so years ago. My how the festival has grown!

Of course don't forget that we will be having an autograph signing session with Kozak System and Taras Chubay at our Wealth Strategies Group office at 2265 Bloor Street West after the festival parade on Saturday September 14. We'll see you there.

Hutsuls: $3,750 raised, $6.250 to go!

If you donate a minimum of $50 you could win a copy of catalogue
of all the photos in Youry Bilak's Hutsul exhibit.
Donations to get the Hutsul photo exhibit to the Toronto Ukrainian Festival have been pouring in over the weekend!

Don;t wait, help the organizers reach their goal of $10,000. Ukrainian Credit Union Limited has done it's part by starting off the donations with a generous grant. But everyone has to pitch in to make this happen!

Below is a recent email from the organizers:

Dear friend.

As the time of the exhibition (and Festival, Sep 13th) is approaching it is critical for us to have your support and show your name as the donor on the HutsulExhibition.com site.

Any amount is appreciated. We ask for 50$ as it gives you additional benefits:
  • photo print of your choice
  • inclusion in the draw for beautiful 30x24.5 cm hard-cover album, which includes 127 photographs from the heart of Hutsuls country with illustrated hardcover, in three languages English, Ukrainian and French and personal autograph from the photographer

In the last few days we managed to raise almost 1,000$ of additional funds, but we are still short of our goal.

Since the Festival is themed around Hutsul culture this year Youry Bilak's photo exhibition will be the center piece of the Festival showcasing major Hutsul life events. All visitor's of the Festival will be able to see the richness and beauty of our culture and over 60% of Festival visitors are of non-Ukrainian background.

We know that many people will be making a donation in the last minute and simply haven't decided on the picture yet.

Be example to others and show your support TODAY!
Sponsor Your favourite Hutsul!

Thank you.
